FinOps Certified Engineer
The FinOps Certified Engineer course is suited for engineers who design, develop, and deliver infrastructure in the cloud. In this course, Engineers will learn how to work with FinOps Practitioners and other stakeholders to optimize cloud use and drive business value from cloud operations.

The FinOps Certified Engineer course is suited for engineers who design, develop, and deliver infrastructure in the cloud. As engineers, you are an integral part of delivering business needs through technology, but your labor is often seen by leadership as a cost driver. Throughout this course, Engineers learn how to work with FinOps Practitioners to “flip the script,” shifting the conversation from the cost of running in the cloud to the value that cloud investment brings to the business. You will come away with strategies and steps to incorporate FinOps data to make data-driven decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

Approximate time to complete: 10 hours
- Learn the basics of FinOps – what it is, why it came to be, and the problems it solves
- Gain the vocabulary needed to collaborate with FinOps stakeholders
- Learn about the two main levers for cost optimization
- Get an introduction to cloud billing data and the FOCUS initiative
- Understand the Iron Triangle and how to use it to make data-driven decisions

- 12 months to access course materials and pass the exam
- FinOps Certified Engineer certificate and badge (upon passing the exam)
After passing the Exam, the FinOps Certified Engineer Certification is valid for 24 months.
If you pass the exam, you will be emailed a certificate immediately following the exam, with a unique code in the bottom left corner. This certificate proves that you are a Certified FinOps Engineer. Additionally, you will receive a digital FinOps Certified Engineer badge to display on your LinkedIn account.
