The FinOps Certified Practitioner instructor-led course includes all course modules and the certification exam, plus a live two-day (remote) class led by an industry-expert instructor with interactive breakout sessions.

Who This Course is For

The course is designed for professionals who want to understand how FinOps is applied to enhance business value through cloud operations. FinOps Practitioners who are just beginning their careers will gain a solid foundation of this practice. Organizations undergoing a cloud-first strategy or who are in the midst of a cloud migration will also benefit greatly. You should consider this course if you are any of the following: 

  • FinOps Practitioners (e.g., FinOps Analyst, Director of Cloud Optimization, Manager of Cloud Operations, or Cloud Cost Optimization Data Analyst)
  • FinOps Core Personas who work with FinOps Practitioners (We recommend Engineers take the FinOps Certified Engineer course)
  • Allied Persona from Intersecting Disciplines such as ITAM, ITFM, Sustainability, and Security who work with FinOps Practitioners
  • Cloud Service Providers (e.g., Consultant, Managed Service Provider)
  • Support Professionals who work for a Cloud Service Provider or a FinOps tooling vendor (e.g., Technical Account Manager, Customer Success Services)
  • Sales and Marketing Professionals who work for a FinOps tooling vendor (e.g., Product Marketing Manager, Account Executive, Solution Architect)
Recommended Prerequisites 
  • Understand the basics of how cloud computing works and know the key services from your cloud providers, including their common use cases
  • Have a basic understanding of consumption-based billing and pay-as-you-go pricing models
  • Can describe the basic value proposition of running in cloud 
  • Have a base level of knowledge of at least one of the three main public cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
What You Receive With This Course
  • Interactive training modules with written content and videos
  • 12 months to access course materials and pass the exam
  • Live (remote) 2-day instructor-led workshop (10 hrs total)
    • Expert-led: The instructor is an expert in the practice of FinOps 
    • Interactivity: The course features a number of group discussions and live activities using Zoom breakout rooms to facilitate interactivity. Please come prepared to share your knowledge and ask questions.
    • Small Size: Classes are limited with multiple breakouts sessions to facilitate collaboration
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certificate and badge (upon passing the exam)

After passing the Exam, the FinOps Certified Practitioner Certification is valid for 24 months.

If you pass the exam, you will be emailed a certificate immediately following the exam, with a unique code in the bottom left corner. This certificate proves that you are a Certified FinOps Practitioner. Additionally, you will receive a digital FinOps Certified Practitioner badge to display on your LinkedIn account.
